Ronald W. Erdrich/Reporter-News A member of the Texas A&M Forest Service shields himself from the intense heat of burning pallets as he crosses to the south side of an Abilene fire late Friday night.
The fire was at a former wood pallet company, behind Abilene Bowling Lanes at 279 Ruidosa Ave.
Members of the Abilene Fire Department worked with the Texas A&M Forest Service into Saturday morning to control the blaze, which covered a roughly 60-by-60-yard area between the bowling alley and the former Sam’s Club.
